1. Accessing WordPress Admin
Step 1: Go to the Login Page
- Open your browser and enter your website’s URL followed by /wp-admin.
- For example: https://yourwebsite.com/wp-admin
Step 2: Enter Your Credentials
- Username: Your admin username (or email).
- Password: Your WordPress admin password.
Step 3: Login
- Click the "Log In" button.
- If successful, you will be directed to the WordPress Dashboard.
Tips:
- Use the “Remember Me” option for quicker access.
- Reset your password by clicking “Lost your password?” if needed.
2. Editing Text & Images with Elementor
Step 1: Open the Page with Elementor
- From the WordPress Dashboard, go to Pages or Posts.
- Find the page/post you wish to edit and click on "Edit with Elementor".
Step 2: Editing Text
- Once in Elementor, click directly on the text block you want to change.
- Modify the text in the Text Editor panel on the left side.
- You can change font size, color, and style by selecting the Style tab.
Step 3: Editing Images
- Click on the image you wish to change.
- In the left panel, click the Choose Image button.
- Upload a new image or select one from the Media Library.
- Adjust image size, alignment, and other settings in the Style tab.
Step 4: Save Changes
- Once edits are complete, click Update in the bottom left corner to save changes.
- To see your changes live, use the Preview Changes option.
3. General WordPress Operations
a. Creating a New Page/Post
- From the Dashboard, go to Pages > Add New or Posts > Add New.
- Enter a title, add content, and use Elementor for design.
- Once done, click Publish to make it live.
b. Managing the Media Library
- Go to Media > Library to view all uploaded images, videos, and documents.
- You can add new media by clicking Add New and dragging files to upload.
c. Managing Plugins
- Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins to view all installed plugins.
- Use Activate or Deactivate to manage plugin status.
- For new plugins, click Add New, search for the desired plugin, and install it.
d. Managing Users
- Go to Users > All Users to view existing users.
- To add a new user, click Add New, enter their information, set a role (e.g., Editor, Contributor), and save.
e. Updating WordPress
- Go to Dashboard > Updates to check for updates.
- Update WordPress core, themes, and plugins regularly to maintain security and performance.
f. Managing Menus
- Go to Appearance > Menus.
- Add new pages, links, or categories to your navigation.
- Drag and drop items to rearrange them.
4. Basic Troubleshooting Tips
- Clear Cache: If changes aren’t visible, clear your browser cache or the site cache.
- Check Permissions: Ensure you have the correct role to make changes (Admin/Editor).
- Backup: Always create a backup before making major changes to your site.
